In 2003, Sammy Sosa was a loveable super star.  The media loved him, his teammates loved him, and the fans loved him.  He was a great guy and a heck of a baseball player; and becoming a larger than life character.

Well on an early summer night the Cubs were visiting the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.  On Sammy’s first at bat, he made contact and bam! His bat shattered and cork went flying everywhere!  Sammy Sosa ... corked bat? Cheating?  Yo Sammy, yous got some ‘splainin’ to do!   With that infamous swing, the 2003 SAMMY SOSA UNCORKED TOUR T shirt was born!  Both the Cardinal fans and especially those Chicago White Sox fans had to have one.  Sports Illustrated even heard about it and had a picture of the shirt in SI. 

This is another great example of what makes Smack Apparel different than anyone else out there ... would MLB ever approve or license such a creative fun shirt? No, not really.  When a great scenario or situation arises in sports that everyone is talking about, you better believe that there is a great SMACK shirt in the making!
